It seems the islands of the South Pacific are highly desired travel destinations when money and time are no object – at least this year. According to Fly.com’s latest Travel Resolutions Survey, Australia has trumped Italy to become the preferred destination for 2015. New Zealand and Fiji rank third and fourth (respectively).
The Fly.com survey, which questioned 563 U.S. travelers and 441 Canadian travelers, sought to establish whether or not travel destination preferences had changed since the last survey two years ago.
While the survey results are a wish list versus an actual representation of where people are flying this year, it is interesting to note that – with the exchange rate for the Australian dollar at a five-year low – the land of down under doesn’t have to be a dream. Financially U.S. travelers can make their dollars stretch a lot further once they arrive. Plus it is summer right now; an added bonus for anyone looking for some fun in the sun.
