Hurricane Sandy Travel Advisory

Despite the weather here in New York, we have been monitoring the conditions all day. More than 13,000 flights across the country have been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.

Our colleagues at Travelzoo put together a list of weather-related policies from many of the major airlines:

For the very latest from your airline, call the carrier. We have a complete list of airline contact information available for your reference.

Travelers should be aware that even if you are not flying into or out of the east coast, your aircraft or crew may have been based in the area, which could lead to delays or cancellations. Again, it is best to check with your airline, cruise line, hotel or transportation provider directly for any updates. If lines are busy, check on Facebook or Twitter for any updates. Airlines often use social media to get in touch with their consumers. For those affected by the storm, be safe and feel free to share your comments as they might help other Fly.com readers.

If anyone knows how to book a flight out of ISLIP today (Oct. 30) to Atlanta (ATL) or Birmingham (BHM) on any airline, please post info.  Thanks.
