Air Jamaica is Jamaica's national airline. Established in 1968 offering connecting flights to New York and Miami from Kingston and Montego Bay, it was originally owned by the Jamaican Government. Air Jamaica is now undergoing a merger with Caribbean Airlines to provide the largest airline in Jamaica. Headquartered in the city of Kingston, it is currently owned by holding company Air Jamaica Transition Limited.
The airline’s main hubs are located at Norman Manley International Airport and Sangster International Airport and operate scheduled flights to 13 destinations in the Caribbean, Canada and the United States. Cheap flights from Air Jamaica serve popular locations including Florida, New York and Pennsylvania.

Check-In
Air Jamaica advises passengers to check in at least three hours prior to departure. Web Check-in opens 24 hours before the flight. All passengers must arrive at the gate to board 30 minutes before take-off.
Baggage
Passengers are permitted to check in three bags weighing up to 23kg as standard. Air Jamaica allows one item of hand luggage per passenger up to 10kg in weight for flights to Canada and 13kg for routes within the Caribbean and the United States. Seating
The seat pitch on an Air Jamaica flight is 33 inches in Economy. Business Class passengers can benefit from 60 inches and First Class can stretch out with a seat pitch of 84 inches.

Additional Information
Air Jamaica is undergoing a take over by Caribbean Airlines. This will see it operate under the Caribbean Airlines name with the aim of forming the countries largest airline. The hub at Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport will then belong to Caribbean Airlines as well as the former Air Jamaica network of flights.
