Air Transat is a low-cost airline serving Canada. Founded by Quebecair employees in 1986, Air Transat now serves around 2.5 million passengers a year to destinations across the world. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Air Transat is owned and operated by Thomas Cook.

From its main base at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International airport and secondary hubs at Toronto Pearson, Vancouver, Calgary and Quebec airports, Air Transat serves 90 destinations in 25 countries. The airline operates budget flights to holiday destinations in Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Cheap flights from Air Transat depart from Birmingham, Glasgow, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle in the United Kingdom.

Check-In
All check-in desks open four hours before each flight. Air Transat advises passengers to check in at least three hours prior to departure. Check-in desks close one hour before take-off.

Baggage
Passengers should check Air Transat information for full details on luggage allowances, which can change frequently. Currently Economy passengers can carry on one item of hand luggage at 5kg and 15kg for business travellers. Economy Class can check in 23kg of hold luggage with a limit of 40kg in Business Class.

Seating
On an Air Transat domestic flight the seat pitch is 38 inches in Business Class and 48 inches on international flights. The seat pitch for Economy is between 28-33 inches as standard.

Frequent Flyer Programme
Air Transat do not operate a frequent flyer programme. Instead the airline continues to offer low fares as their way to pass on savings.
