Also known as Zennikkū or ANA, All Nippon Airways Ltd (ANA) is the second largest airline in Japan. Headquartered at the Shiodome City Center in Minato, Tokyo, ANA employs over 14,000 people and is run by CEO Shinichiro Ito. The airline was first established in 1952 and now operates scheduled services to over 80 destinations worldwide.
From its hubs at Narita International airport, Kansai International airport and secondary regional hubs in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Sapporo, ANA serves 49 domestic locations and 35 international routes. ANA’s flight network extends to China, Korea, Southeast Asia, United States and Europe. UK passengers can fly with All Nippon Airways from London Heathrow airport.
ANA also operates low-cost subsidiaries and charter carriers including; Air Nippon, Air Japan, Air Nippon Network and Air Next based at Fukuoka airport. Passengers travelling with ANA can enjoy in-flight features such as a large seat pitch, Economy upgrades and complimentary refreshments.
Check-In
Passengers boarding domestic flights must arrive at check-in no later than 15 minutes prior to departure. Automated check-in readers scan tickets up to two hours before the flight for international passengers. Gates close 15 minutes before take-off.
Baggage
ANA passengers are permitted to check in up to 20kg of hold luggage and 40kg for Premium ticket holders. All passengers can carry on one item of hand luggage weighing up to 10kg and a personal item including a laptop or briefcase. Check ANA information for details on excess baggage fees.
Seating
The seat pitch on an ANA flight is 34 inches in Economy upgrading to 38 inches. Business Class passengers can enjoy 50-65 inches and First Class benefit from a spacious seat pitch of 80 inches.
Frequent Flyer Programme
ANA Mileage Club is the frequent flyer programme offered by ANA. Members can earn miles on each journey to convert into spending points. Rewards include free flights, upgrades and discounts on car hire.
Additional Information
ANA have recently announced a new development to their booking system. Passengers can now book tickets in their local currency. Where it was once only possible to book using Japanese Yen, customers can make reservations in their own language using a variety of currencies. It is hoped that this will improve the buying experience to all ANA passengers.
