Wizz Air is a European low-cost airline based in Budapest, Hungary. Having only been established as a company since 2003, the airline has come along in leaps and bounds since its inaugural flight in May 2004. Wizz Air flights cover more than 150 routes, primarily to secondary airports that offer a lower cost base and therefore cheaper flights for customers.
In the UK, Wizz Air flights depart from Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, Glasgow Prestwick, Liverpool and London Luton and carry passengers to European destinations such as Gdansk, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest and Riga. The airline has three divisions consisting of Wizz Air Hungary, Wizz Air Bulgaria and Wizz Air Ukraine.
Check-In
Check-in for Wizz Air flights closes 40 minutes prior to departure and there is a fee charged at the airport. Online check-in is available from seven days up to three hours before the flight.
Baggage
Hand luggage on Wizz Air flights is restricted to one item per person and must not exceed 10kg. Passengers can put up to six bags into the hold, but no single piece of luggage can exceed 32kg in weight, and each bag is charged per person, per flight.

Frequent Flyer Programme
Wizz Air operates a programme whereby passengers can add credit to a ‘Wizz Account’ in order to receive a bonus of up to 25 per cent to put toward Wizz Air flights.

The airline recently celebrated its sixth birthday, and the Wizz Air information office announced that the company had seen record passenger figures of 8.4 million over the previous 12 months, equating to a massive 30 per cent increase on the previous year.
