Technically, Fly.com is an “airfare search engine.” But call us whatever you want – a “flight comparison site,” a “meta-search site” or a “flights aggregator.” You wouldn’t be wrong. Practically, Fly.com scours hundreds of airline and major travel sites for real-time fares, and then presents the results to you in a very simple, clean, easy-to-understand display.
We work with the major airlines. We work with low fare airlines. We work with the international airlines. And we work with multiple online travel agencies. As an independent, unbiased authority on airfares, you can trust that our aim is to give you the unvarnished truth-in-pricing.
But we are not a booking engine. We help you decide which flights are right for you, and show you where you can book those flights for the best available price.
Finally, if it isn’t obvious, we don’t force you to sign in to our site, and we don’t charge you for our service. We make our money from our partners and advertisers when you click on their link or make a booking on their site.
Fly.com is a product of Travelzoo Inc.’s desire to branch out beyond its well-known role as the most trusted publisher of travel deals.
In summer of 2008, Travelzoo convened a team to design and build what became Fly.com. We launched our U.S. site in February 2009, and the U.K. site was launched in August 2009.
