Aegean Airlines is the largest Greek airline by the total number of passengers carried per year. Headquartered in Kifisia, Athens Prefecture, the airline is currently undergoing a merger with rival Olympic Air. It is hoped that Aegean Airlines will join forces to dominate the Greek air space.
As a regional partner of Lufthansa and member of the Star Alliance, Aegean Airlines provides 23 international and 17 domestic routes. Aegean Airlines operates charter services and scheduled flights around Europe from its main base at Athens International Airport. A secondary hub is located at Thessaloniki International Airport. UK passengers can book cheap flights with Aegean Airways and travel to Greece from London Heathrow Airport. Other destinations include; Spain, Turkey, Italy, Germany, France and Belgium.

Check-In
Aegean Airlines passengers are advised check in at least two hours before the flight. The latest check in is 40 minutes from take-off from London Heathrow and gates close 20 minutes before departure.
Baggage
The maximum weight for hold luggage is restricted to 32kg. Business Class travellers can check in up to 30kg and carry two items of hand luggage weighing 13kg. Economy passengers are permitted to check in 20kg and one carry on bag at 8kg. Excess baggage fees apply.
Seating
The seat pitch on Aegean Airlines aircraft is 32 inches for Economy passengers. Business Class ticket holders can enjoy a seat pitch of 33 inches.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Miles & Bonus is the frequent flyer programme of Aegean Airlines. Members can earn points for each flight to spend on reward flights or discounts on services from airlines in the Star Alliance.
Additional Information
Earlier this year shareholders announced a proposal to merge with Olympic Air. Should this gain approval by the European Commission Aegean Airlines will re-brand under the Olympic logo. Chairman Theodoros Vassilakis has stated that the formation is in the best interest of the company and will not sacrifice on Aegean Airlines core service values.
