Air Berlin is Germany's second largest airline and Europe's sixth largest in terms of passenger traffic. First established in 1978 Air Berlin offers semi-low fare flights throughout the continent. The airline’s business headquarters are located at the Airport Bureau Centre in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Berlin.
Air Berlin operates domestic flights to 23 German cities and 154 destinations worldwide with central airport hubs at Dusseldorf airport and Nuremberg airport. The largest hub is Berlin-Tegel airport operating routes to popular holiday locations in the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Canary Islands.
Passengers can also book flights from Air Berlin to international destinations including South East Asia, the Caribbean and the United States. Complimentary in-flight snacks and drinks come as standard and Business Class passengers can benefit from extra legroom and an extended video programme.
Long-haul Air Berlin flights are catered by noted gourmet chef Herbert Seckler and his team at Sansibar. Specialities include Asian inspired main meals and Italian flavoured snacks.
Check-In
Air Berlin check-in desks close 60 minutes before departure for European flights and 90 minutes for international routes. Passengers are advised to arrive at the gate 30 minutes before take-off.
Baggage
Air Berlin passengers can check in up to 20kg on short-haul and medium-haul flights. Business Class passengers are allowed up to 30kg and topbonus members are allowed up to 30kg. Each passenger can take one item of hand luggage on board weighing up to 6kg. Business Class are permitted two items.
Seating
Air Berlin offers a pitch of 32 inches as standard. International flights provide a larger space for upgraded passengers. Business Class ticket holders benefit from 54.8 inches while First Class enjoy a pitch of 62 inches

Air Berlin promotes their services to business travellers through the topbonus programme. This frequent flyer scheme offers the opportunity to collect miles towards a free flight. Points can also be traded for rewards with partner companies.
