Air Moldova is the national carrier and largest airline of Moldova offering regular flights across the continent. Established in 1993 by presidential decree, Air Moldova is a first choice for Moldovan air travel. Headquartered on the grounds of Chisinau International Airport, also the airline’s hub, passengers can fly to 16 countries across Europe. Air Moldova is government owned and run by CEO Iulian Scorpan.
Air Moldova permits the transport of goods and mail, but it is the extensive network to 23 European cities that remain its biggest source of revenue. Passengers can fly from Chisinau International Airport direct to Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, Athens, Paris and Moscow. Cheap flights from Air Moldova depart from London Gatwick in the United Kingdom.
Passengers flying with Air Moldova are advised to arrive at the airport at least one hour and 50 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Check-in closes 40 minutes before take-off.
Air Moldova permits Economy Class passengers to check in up to 20kg and Business Class passengers 30kg. On flights to Istanbul and Moscow this increases to 30kg for Economy and 40kg in Business Class. Passengers can carry on hand luggage not exceeding 8kg in Economy and 12kg in Business Class.
The available seat pitch onboard an Air Moldova flight is 31.2 inches in Economy Class. Business Class ticket holders can enjoy a spacious seat pitch of 46 inches on international flights.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Air Moldova offers the very generous frequent flyer programme Air Moldova Club. Members can collect points from flights and purchases to spend on a series of rewards. A dedicated airport lounge is also available to members.
Air Moldova has announced that it will increase the frequency of one of its routes in the network. The Chisinau-Istanbul-Chisinau route to Sabiha Gokcen International Airport will now run to a total of nine flights each week. Air Moldova hope this reliable and daily service will encourage more business travellers to book flights with the airline.
