Air Namibia is the national airline of Namibia. Founded in 1946 as South West Air Transport it originally offered a small domestic network. Air Namibia now operates flights to over 36 destinations in Africa and Europe. Headquartered in Trans Namib Building in Windhoek, Air Namibia is government owned and run by Chairman Hinyangerwa Pius Asheeke.
The airline operates scheduled international and freight services from its hub at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport. A secondary hub at Windhoek Eros Airport serves Air Namibia’s domestic routes. After closing its flights from the United Kingdom, Frankfurt Airport is the only remaining European destination served directly by Air Namibia. Other routes departing from Africa include Angola , Ghana , South Africa , Zimbabwe and Botswana .
Air Namibia’s fleet include Airbus, Beechcraft and Boeing aircraft totalling nine, with plans to purchase more to replace the Airbus model.
Check-In
Passengers flying with Air Namibia are advised to arrive at the airport at least two hours before the flight. Check-in closes 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Baggage
Air Namibia permits a hold luggage allowance of 20kg for Economy passengers. Business Class can check in up to 30kg. Infants are entitled to a free baggage allowance. All Air Namibia passengers can carry on one item of hand luggage not exceeding 10kg in weight plus a personal item.
Seating
The available seat pitch onboard an Air Namibia flight is 34 inches in Economy Class. Business Class travellers can benefit from a spacious seat pitch between 48-63 inches. Passengers requesting a particular seat position must book in advance.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Reward$ is the frequent flyer programme available with Air Namibia. Passengers must meet strict criteria to qualify for membership. Points can be earned with every flight to spend on upgrades or free flights.

During the event one woman is crowned the winner and she will represent the country at international functions.
