Atlantic Airways is the national airline of the Faroe Islands. Since it was first established in 1987, Atlantic Airways has operated scheduled international flights, domestic helicopter services and a vital search and rescue service to the region. Headquartered in Sørvágur, a village on the island of Vágoy, Atlantic Airways is owned by the Faroese Government and run by company president Magni Arge.
From the airline’s base at Vágar Airport, Atlantic Airways operates flights to neighbouring countries including Denmark, Iceland, Norway and the United Kingdom. Atlantic Airways flights depart from London Stansted Airport seasonally. VIP charter helicopter flights are available all year round and are booked by government officials, delegates to the region and passengers on business.
Check-In
Atlantic Airways recommend passengers to arrive at the airport at least two hours in advance. Check-in desk close 45 minutes before the scheduled departure. Passengers should be ready to board 30 minutes prior to take-off.
Baggage
Business Class passengers flying with Atlantic Airways can check in up to 30kg. Economy passengers are permitted up to 20kg of hold luggage. All passengers can carry one item of hand luggage not exceeding 8kg plus one personal item including a laptop or briefcase.

Former United States President Bill Clinton flew onboard a charter flight from Keflavík Airport to the Faroe Islands for an event then onward to Copenhagen.
