Established in 1924 Delta Air Lines is a major American carrier and one of the world’s largest airlines. Delta is headquartered on corporate ground in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, also Delta’s main hub for flights. Secondary hubs in Amsterdam, Detroit and Paris allow the airline to operate routes around the globe.
Following a merger with Northwest Airlines, Delta provides an extensive international network with 1,534 flights per day flying to 247 destinations in 66 countries. Delta flights from Atlanta travel to Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Australia. Domestic flights within the United States account for a large part of the airline’s revenue.
Delta Air Lines' airport lounges are called Sky Clubs and offer exclusive features such as wireless internet access, magazines and meals. Putting greens have been installed at select lounges. Membership can be purchased at the lounge reception desk.
Check-In
Delta passengers are recommended to check in 75 minutes prior to departure. The desk closes 30 minutes before the scheduled flight time and the gate closes 15 minutes before take-off.
Baggage
Economy passengers can check in one item at 23kg and carry on one item of hand luggage. First and BusinessElite passengers can check in three bags weighing up to 69kg in total. All passengers travelling with Delta Air Lines are advised not to exceed the baggage restrictions or fees will apply.
Seating
The seat pitch for domestic flights is 32 inches with 37-40 inches available in First Class cabins. Long-haul flights provide a luxurious 60 inches for First Class and BusinessElite travellers.
Frequent Flyer Programme
SkyMiles is Delta Air Lines’ loyalty program and winner of "best frequent flyer program" in the Best in Business Travel Awards. Membership to SkyMiles allows passengers to earn rewards on airport purchases.
