easyJet was founded in 1995 by business entrepreneur, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou. With its head office in Luton, cheap flights from easyJet have revolutionised air travel in Europe. easyJet also pioneered the use of the Internet in airline travel.
Employing over 6,000 people including 1,800 pilots and 3,300 cabin crew, easyJet fly more passengers than any other United Kingdom-based airline.
They operate international and domestic services on 500 routes between 118 European, West Asian and North African airports and hold the number one ranking position in Gatwick, Milan and Geneva and the number two position in Paris.
In the UK, easyJet departs from London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle. In Europe they fly from Basel, Geneva, Lyon, Madrid, Milan-Malpensa, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly and Rome-Fiumicino.
With a fleet of close to 200 aircraft in 28 countries – made up of mainly Airbus A319s – easyJet transports close to 50 million passengers every year.
Check-In
Online check-in is available 60 days before flights until two hours prior to departure. Check-in desks close exactly 40 minutes prior to departure. Passengers should check in at least two hours before their flights. Boarding gates close 25 minutes prior to departure.
Baggage
easyJet information on baggage allowances permits each passenger one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25cm, and up to eight items of hold baggage up to 20kg. Each piece of checked-in hold baggage will incur a fee.
Seating
Cheap flights from easyJet provide passengers with Economy class seating only. Seats are unreserved with a seat pitch of 31 inches. Passengers may choose where to sit on a first-come-first-served basis.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Customers can take advantage of easyJet Plus – an annual membership card that allows travellers to enjoy unlimited Speedy Boarding, use of dedicated check-in desks and exclusive cheap flights from easyJet.
