Jet2 is a low cost airline based at Leeds-Bradford Airport. The airline was established in 2003 with the Channel Express brand, which formerly operated from Bournemouth airport. Jet2 now has a fleet of over 30 aircraft carrying three million passengers every year. Cheap flights from Jet2 began operating from their second base at terminal one of Manchester airport in 2004. Jet2 flights cover destinations all over Europe, as well as destinations in Tunisia, Egypt and even cheap flights to New York.
The Jet2 brand is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dart Group PLC, which has been operating commercial aircraft for over 30 years (originally under the Channel Express brand). With nearly 40 routes from the Leeds-Bradford base alone, cheap flights from Jet2 are regularly operating on new routes from airports throughout the UK, including Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Blackpool, Belfast and Newquay.
Online check-in is available from 28 days and up to five hours prior to departure. The ‘bag drop’ opens two hours and closes 40 minutes before flying. Airport check-in is no later than two hours before departure.
Carry-on baggage allowance is one bag per person of 10kg maximum weight and dimensions no greater than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm. Hold baggage is 22kg maximum, spread across three bags, but there is a fee for each bag. Additional allowance can be purchased up to 30kg.
The seat pitch for Jet2 flights is 30 inches across the aircraft.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Despite being a low cost airline, cheap flights from Jet2 can earn loyalty points for regular flyers under the myJet2 programme, which operates on a simple flights-for-points system.
Jet2 information often announces the introduction of the newest routes in the airline’s ever-growing list of cheap flights. Jet2 recently reported several new routes from Newcastle Airport to the European cities of Prague, Krakow, Alicante, Faro and Toulouse.
