Malaysia Airlines Flights Information

Malaysia Airlines, a government-owned airline, is the flag carrier of Malaysia. It operates flights from its home base at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and has a secondary hub in Kota Kinabalu. Its headquarters are situated on the grounds of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor.

Malaysia Airlines was established in 1987, when the airline changed its name from Malaysian Airline System. It originally began operating in 1947 and now flies to 87 destinations across six continents from its primary hub in Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysia Airline’s network covers Southeast Asia, East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and the Kangaroo Route between Europe and Australasia. With over 20,000 employees, it’s one of only six airlines with a SkyTrax 5-star status, and has a fleet comprising Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Check-In
Web, kiosk and telephone check-in is available. Counter check-in times are two hours before departure for international flights and one hour for domestic flights. Gates close 30 minutes before scheduled departure times.

Baggage
Hand baggage is limited to one item per passenger in Economy Class and two items per passenger in Business Class, with a weight of 5kg and maximum dimensions of 56 x36 x23cm. Checked baggage limits in Business Class are 30kg and 20kg in Economy.

Seating
Malaysia Airlines information states that the seat pitch in its Economy Class cabin is 34 inches. Business Class passengers can enjoy a spacious seat pitch of 51 inches.
