Oman Air is the national airline of Oman. Established in 1970 the airline is based in the capital city Muscat. Oman Air operates scheduled passenger services to destinations throughout the world. The airline is owned by the Omani government and is run by CEO Peter Hill.
From its main hub at Muscat International Airport, Oman Air routes cover a network of 36 locations in 19 countries across Africa, Asia and Europe. Scheduled domestic and international flights total 296 per day making it a major airline of the region. As a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization, Oman Air is a first choice for business travel and offers direct flights to cities including; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Paris, Frankfurt, Mumbai and Bangkok. UK passengers can depart from London Heathrow Airport each week.
Oman Air plans to extend the flight network with the new arrival of Airbus A330-200/300 aircraft.
Check-In
Oman Air advises passengers to arrive at least three hours before scheduled time of departure. Check-in counters close one hour prior to take-off and gates close 15 minutes before the flight.
Baggage
Oman Air’s baggage policy varies between cabin class. Economy Class can check in up to 30kg, Business Class 40kg and First Class passengers are permitted up to 50kg. All Oman Air passengers can carry on one item of hand luggage not exceeding 7kg in weight.
Seating
The seat pitch on an Oman Air flight is 32 inches in Economy Class and 40 inches in Business Class. Passengers requesting an aisle seat should check Oman Air information for details on availability.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Sindbad is the frequent flyer program available with Oman Air. Members can collect points to spend on rewards with Oman Air and partners Etihad Airways and Gulf Air. Silver and Gold members are entitled to a larger luggage allowance.

Earlier this year Oman Air announced a truly unique onboard service for the airline’s passengers. Oman Air became the first airline in the world to permit mobile phone calls, SMS and wireless internet access mid-flight. This luxurious feature has been popular with business travellers who can continue to keep in touch with their office during long-haul routes.
