Pegasus Airlines was established in 1990 as a joint venture between Aer Lingus, Silkar Yatırım and Net Holding in Istanbul, but is now a completely independent airline company.
The first Pegasus flight took off in May 1990 and at that time the company had two aircraft. Today the Pegasus fleet is made up of 31 aircraft, all contemporary Boeings.
In 2007, Pegasus carried more passengers to Turkey than any other private airline and now transports close to 5 million passengers per year. Pegasus is one of Turkey’s leading airlines with scheduled passenger and charter flights to over 100 destinations.
Cheap flights from Pegasus operate on a daily basis to Northern Cyprus from London Stansted and Manchester airports. Flights depart every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday in the afternoon, so there’s no early morning rush to the airport. Return flights leave Ercan International airport in the morning sunshine and arrive at London Stansted at midday.
Check-In
Pegasus passengers can choose to check in online. Pegasus self-service touch-screen kiosks at airports enable quick and hassle-free check in. Check-in desks open at least two hours before departure and close 45 minutes before take-off.
Baggage
Pegasus Airlines offer a generous 25kg baggage allowance per person, with the standard 5kg hand luggage allowance. You can select your seat for a small extra fee, including emergency exit seats.
Seating
The seating on a Pegasus flight is comfortable with a seat pitch of 29 and 30 inches across the aircraft.
