Qantas, the national airline of Australia was established in 1920 in Queensland, and had its first scheduled flight way back in 1922. For the last five years it has been voted one of the top 5 airlines in the world by Skytrax.
Qantas operates nearly 750 weekly international flights and has a full domestic schedule. The Qantas Group fleet of aircraft – a mix of Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier – numbers 213 in total. The airline is a member of the prestigious Oneworld airline alliance.
In the United Kingdom, Qantas operates from 10 prime airports – London Heathrow, London Stansted, London Gatwick, London City, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle.
On Qantas flights passengers have the choice of First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class seating. In Business Class, a dedicated check-in and Qantas Club Lounge is available along with Skybeds on some aircraft.
Check-In
Online check-in is available between 24 hours and two hours before flight departure. UK airport check-in is between three hours and 60 minutes before departure and boarding usually starts 45 minutes before departure.
Baggage

Seating
Qantas aircraft seating is comfortable offering a standard seat pitch of 31 inches. Passengers can book in advance to ensure a seat by the emergency exits or the wing.
Frequent Flyer Programme
The frequent flyer programme offered by Qantas has four levels of membership: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Points can be used at the Qantas online store or for flights and seat upgrades.
