Rossiya Russian Airlines is based in St Petersburg, Russia. Rossiya was founded in 2006 through the merger of Pulkovo Aviation from St Petersburg, and a Moscow-based company also called Rossiya Airlines. The new Rossiya is Russia’s second national airline and operates VIP flights on behalf of the Russian government. Cheap flights from Rossiya are a mixture of both scheduled and charter flights to Europe, North Africa, Asia and the Far East. Most Rossiya flights depart from the airline’s main hub at Pulkovo airport in St Petersburg.
Rossiya flights operate with a fleet of both Boeing and Airbus aeroplanes and a total fleet of around 60 aircraft. Cheap flights from Rossiya operate on the London Heathrow to St Petersburg Pulkovo route. Rossiya flights from London Heathrow depart from Terminal 4, and the flight duration is around three and a half hours.
Check-In
The check-in policy states that passengers should arrive at the airport check-in desk no later than 40 minutes before departure. Check-in opens two hours in advance.
Baggage
The carry-on baggage allowance on Rossiya flights is one 8kg bag for Economy Class passengers and two bags of up to 10kg in Business Class. The bags must have total dimensions no greater than 115cm in both cases. Checked baggage allowance is 25kg for Economy and 30kg for Business Class.
Seating
Rossiya information on tnot dushe seat pitch for Business and Economy Class passengers is not disclosed. Passengers requesting a specific seat position are advised to book in advance.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Although Rossiya flights are operated on code-sharing agreements with several other airlines, it does not currently have a frequent flyer programme.
Additional Information
It was announced by Rossiya information in February 2010 that the airline will be returning to its original home in Moscow to provide domestic flights. The airline is soon to become part of a new corporate entity that will be taken over by Russia’s largest airline, Aeroflot.
