Uzbekistan Airways is the flag carrier airline of Uzbekistan. Established in 1992 by Uzbek President Islom Karimov, the airline’s first flight took to the skies from Tashkent to the United Kingdom. Headquartered in the city of Tashkent, it is owned by the Uzbek Government and run by Managing Director Nubz Perhacs.
The airline’s hub is Tashkent International Airport from here Uzbekistan Airways operates scheduled departures to almost 50 destinations in Asia, Europe and the United States. Uzbekistan Airways flights depart from London Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom each week. Other routes fly to Latvia, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Italy, France and Germany. Direct flights to Asian countries include the United Arab Emirates, India and Kazakhstan. Flights to JFK International Airport in New York are the only direct route to the United States from Uzbekistan.
Check-In
Passengers flying with Uzbekistan Airways should arrive at the airport up to two hours in advance. Check-in closes 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. Passengers must be at the boarding gate 30 minutes before take-off.
Baggage
The baggage restrictions for Uzbekistan Airways flights can vary between aircraft and destination and passengers should always check in advance. In most cases Economy Class passengers are permitted 25kg, Business Class 35kg and First Class can check in up to 45kg. Hand luggage must not exceed 8kg.

Additional Information
Uzbekistan Airways has signed a contract to purchase more Airbus aircraft. A total of five A320’s will be added to the airline’s fleet which Uzbekistan Airways believes will provide passengers with the best quality travel. The airline hopes to use the new fleet to expand their network of domestic and international flights.
