Paris, the enchanting City of Lights
Romantic, sophisticated, bohemian, glamorous, artistic, seductive, Paris is diverse and generous enough to satisfy all the clichés. Paris may be famous for its wealth of art treasures but the greatest work of art is the city itself. Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Why go?
The atmosphere is very unique, Paris is enchanting almost everywhere, at any time. Crossroad of Cultures and Arts, Paris is full of monuments and museums. The Paris region receives 45 million tourists annually, 60% of whom are foreign visitors, everything is said here.
When to go?
The best moment to visit Paris is all year round, you will - in any case - quickly determine that one visit is not enough. So come whenever you can because each season has its special moments! What is good to know is that many Parisians go on vacation during August so there are fewer lines, more parking, and places are generally less crowded (at least with the locales). But many restaurants, theaters, etc. are also closed in August. The weather is generally better in summer as well. During winter, there are fewer tourists and entrance to the major museums will be easier. The weather may not be quite as accommodating however…
How to get there?
Eurostar from London is the easiest way to reach Paris city center – in only 2 hours and 15 minutes - because you will arrive directly in the heart of the city. You can also book a direct fly from London or any other main airport of the UK to fly to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport (about 25km northeast of Paris, bus, taxi and RER are the different ways to reach the city center) or to fly to Paris Orly airport (about 20km South of Paris).
