Scandinavian Airlines, also known as SAS Airlines, is the official flag carrier of Scandinavia. Founded in 1946, the company is headquartered at Solna, Sweden. Its hub is the Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport. It has a fleet of 157 aircraft, composed of Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321, Airbus A321LR, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A340-300, Boeing 737-600, Boeing 737-700, and Boeing 737-800. The airline has a simple logo, with ‘SAS’ stylized in italics, appearing in blue font.

Baggage and Other Policies:

Carry-on baggage allowance:

Carry-on bags should not exceed 8 kg in weight and 22 x 16 x 9 inches in dimensions.

• Passengers travelling in SAS Go and SAS Plus are allowed to bring one carry-on bag on board
• Passengers travelling in SAS Plus from the US or Asia can carry two carry-on bags
• Passengers travelling in Business Class are allowed two carry-on bags
• In addition to the carry-on, all passengers are allowed one small personal item such as a handbag or a laptop bag

Checked-in baggage allowance:

• Maximum size of each piece of checked luggage is 62 inches
• Any piece of luggage weighing more than 32 kg will not be accepted on-board and will be checked in as cargo

The number and weight of checked luggage varies based on the ticket type

• SAS Go Light: No extra bags for free, a fee must be paid
• SAS Go: Passengers may bring one free bag (maximum weight: 23 kg)
• SAS Plus: Passengerscan bring two free bags (maximum weight of each: 23 kg)
• SAS Business Class: Passengers can bring two bags for free (maximum weight: 32 kg each)

Parents can book SAS plane tickets for children travelling alone between the ages of 5 to 17 under the Unaccompanied Minor Service. This service is available only on regular SAS Airlines reservations, not on SAS Youth tickets. As part of the service, the minor is escorted through security, to the gate, and boarded on the aircraft. The child is helped with baggage and custom checks. At the arrival airport, the child is released to a parent or guardian.

Space for your pet must be reserved within 24 hours of an SAS Airlines booking; accommodation will be confirmed within 24 hours. Only dogs and cats can be present inside the cabin area (except in SAS Business Class where no pets are allowed). Service animals can travel in the cabin for free. Animals travelling in the cabin are considered as one carry-on luggage. Maximum dimensions of the carrier are 15 x 9 x 9 inches. The maximum weight of the pet (including the carrier) should not exceed 8 kg. Only one pet is allowed per person. In the cargo hold, animals weighing more than 14 kg must travel in separate carriers. On flights with a duration of more than 3 hours, the maximum permissible weight of each animal is 30 kg.

• SAS Airlines Business Class passengers travel in ultimate comfort (only available on intercontinental flights). Flyers enjoy an a la carte menu, beverages, snacks and fruits during the flights, entertainment system, power outlets, fully flat beds, Fast Track, and free Wi-Fi.

Web Check-In:

SAS Airlines Check-In is easier now with web check-in facility, using which you can avoid long queues at the airport. Web check-in opens 22 hours before the scheduled flight departure.
