With Frontier’s entry into the Atlanta market recently, fares have dropped significantly on other carriers. Nonstop flights between Atlanta and Chicago are now $107-$122 roundtrip, including tax. This is a savings of more than $100 on the regular price.
Even with Spirit’s additional fees for carry-on baggage and seat assignments, this fare still saves a substantial amount when compared to other airlines. Frontier is only a bit more expensive. While they charge similar fees to Spirit, I think the service is superior, plus more legroom (typically 2″ more legroom).
