And the fares to Mexico keep dropping! Last week we found what we thought is a great fare from San Antonio to Cancun for $262 roundtrip. Today this route is $217 roundtrip, including taxes, and travel is available in January and February, which is Cancun’s peak season. There is a catch though: the layover in Mexico City can be as long as 12 hours, which can be used to take a quick tour.

In addition, flights to Mexico City have also dropped to $230 roundtrip. If you’re willing spend two weeks in Mexico (a great way to travel around the country or region), you can participate in one of Mexico City’s biggest holidays, Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), to be held on November 1 and 2.
