My memorable Kauai, Hawaii trip

Na Pali coast, Kauai
My family recently took a week-long vacation at Kauai, Hawaii. Beautiful beautiful place – inactive volcano in the center; lush greenery all around; rivers and waterfalls aplenty; beaches galore; an amazing coastline only accessible by air or sea; mountains and plains; rain and sunshine; whales and dolphins visible from land and sea; making it a memorable Kauai, Hawaii trip; couldn’t dream it any better!

Kauai, we learnt is geologically the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands; someone said that it is northern most point in the ‘great human migration’. I looked many places and found my best fares at fly.com.

We traveled via LAX to LIH. Lihue is the big city in Kauai and has the airport also. We rented a car and settled into a oceanfront room in Kapa’a, just a bit north of the airport. Over the next few days, we took a 4×4 ranch ride at Kipu and drenched ourselves in two waterfalls; we rode bicycles along the seashore; we saw the grandeur of the Waimea Canyon – the Grand Canyon of the Pacific; the view at Kalalau Lookout was fabulous; we visited the Kauai Monastery more than once; we saw the Opeka’a and and Wailua falls; we climbed the Kiluea Point Lighthouse; we did snorkeling at Poipu beach; we stood in amazement beholding the spouting horn; the Na Pali coast boat trip was absolutely worth it!; on the last day we did a helicopter ride to get a birds eye-view of the land and the many waterfalls, even once within a caldera!

BTW we are vegans – never really had trouble finding food!

I searched and found the following low low fares to Lihue, Hawaii for March 2019 at Fly.com (round trip fares):
