Austrian Airlines was founded in 1957 through the merger of Air Austria and Austrian Airways. It is the flag carrier of Austria and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. Austrian Airlines allows carry-on baggage that does not exceed 8 kg in weight and 55 x 40 x 23 cm in dimensions.
Additionally, all passengers can carry another personal item (handbag, laptop bag or shoulder bag) with dimensions not exceeding 40 x 30 x 10 cm. A foldable garment bag with dimensions not exceeding 57 x 54 x 15 cm is also considered a carry-on item.

Austrian Airlines provides mandatory unaccompanied minor service to children between the ages 5-11 and optional unaccompanied minor service to children between the ages 12-17. The unaccompanied minor will be assisted right from the time of their departure up to the time they are safely received by their respective guardian at the arrival airport.
Austrian Airlines allows a maximum of two animals onboard in an approved transport container. Animals exceeding 8 kg in weight (pet + container) and container dimensions exceeding 55 x 40 x 23 cm will not be allowed in the cabin but must be transported in the cargo hold.
Austrian Airline offers exclusive DO and CO menu options to all its passengers. Complimentary drinks and beverages (including Austrian beers and wines) are also available. Business Class passengers can choose from a free range of special meals. The airline also provides onboard Wi-Fi facility known as FlyNet.
