About KLM Airlines

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is the official flag carrier of the Netherlands. Founded in 1919, it is the world’s oldest operating airline. KLM Airlines has its hub at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and its headquarters in Amstelveen. Its fleet consists of Airbus A330-200, Airbus A330-300, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-900, Boeing 747-400M, Boeing 777-200ER, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787-9, Boeing 787-10, among others. The logo consists of KLM written in bold blue, with a crown design right on top in the same blue hue.

Important destinations covered by KLM Airlines international flights are France, Tanzania, Cuba, Bali, and Costa Rica. New destinations covered by the airlines include Vaxjo, Fortaleza, Orlando, and San Jose.

Baggage and Other Policies:

Hand baggage allowance:

• Passengers with Economy Class KLM reservations are allowed one carry-on piece (maximum size: 21.5 x 13.5 x 10 inches), one small item (maximum size: 16 x 12 x 6 inches). Maximum combined weight must not exceed 12 kg.
• Passengers with Business Class KLM flight booking are allowed two carry-on pieces (maximum size: 21.5 x 13.5 x 10 inches), one small item (maximum size: 16 x 12 x 6 inches). Maximum combined weight must not exceed 18 kg

Checked baggage allowance:

• Passengers with Economy Class KLM reservations are allowed one bag (maximum weight: 62 inches in total, maximum weight: 23 kg). Light passengers cannot have checked baggage, and have to pay additional fees for carrying it
• Business Class passengers are allowed two bags (maximum dimensions: 62 inches in total), with a maximum weight of 32 kg per bag
• Flying Blue Silver, Gold and Platinum members and SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members are allowed one extra item of check-in baggage of the same dimensions and weight

The Unaccompanied Minor service is mandatory for children travelling alone between the ages 5 to 14 and is optional for passengers between the ages 15 to 17. Children travelling in a class different from their parents or accompanying guardian can also avail this service. The Unaccompanied Minor service has to be booked along with the KLM flight booking at least 24 hours before departure

Small dogs and cats are permitted in the cabin, if the weight of the pet and carrier combined is not more than 8 kg. If the weight exceeds 8 kg but is under 75 kg, the pet may be placed in the hold on KLM Airlines flights.

In-flight Amenities

Business Class: The Business Class on KLM international flights has been designed by a renowned Dutch designer. The seats are flat and spacious with in-seat power, canopy, and wide personal entertainment screens. Exclusive meals including warm dishes, a large salad, and a dessert are served in flight

Economy Class: Passengers with Economy KLM tickets can travel comfortably in ergonomically designed seats that come with a pillow and blanket. Meals and beverages are served on-board. Passengers also get access to personal entertainment systems

KLM Airlines check-in is a whole lot easier with the online web check-in service. If you are already checked-in and are just carrying hand luggage, you can proceed straight for the security check.
