About Norwegian Airlines

Norwegian Airlines, also called Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA, is Norway’s largest airline and flag carrier. Based in Baerum, it was founded in 1993. Norwegian Airlines has one of the youngest and greenest fleets in the world. Their fleet of 170 aircraft includes Boeing 737-800s, Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The logo consists of ‘Norwegian’ written in a bold white font on a red background along with an icon of a flying aircraft and its trail in navy on the right-hand corner.

Baggage and Other Policies:

Passengers are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item (small purse, thin laptop case, or duty-free bag) in the cabin. The dimensions of the carry-on bag must not exceed 55 x 40 x 23 cm whereas the same for the personal item must not exceed 33 x 25 x 20 cm. The maximum permissible weight depends on the ticket type -

• For LowFare, LowFare+, Flex, and Premium Norwegian Airlines flight booking, the weight of the carry-on bag must not exceed 10 kg.
• For Premium Flex Norwegian Airlines flight reservation, the weight must not exceed 15 kg.
• For all passengers travelling via Dubai flights, the weight must not exceed 8 kg.

For checked-in baggage, the weight of each piece must not exceed 32 kg or be lighter than 2 kg and the maximum dimensions must be within 250 x 79 x 112 cm. The weight depends upon the ticket type -

• LowFare passengers are not given any checked-in baggage allowance and need to pay additional charges (if carrying any).
• LowFare+ passengers can carry one piece not weighing more than 20 kg.
• Flex, Premium, and Premium Flex passengers are allowed to carry two pieces each not weighing more than 20 kg.

Norwegian Airlines allows small cats or dogs to travel in the cabin on domestic flights within Argentina, Schengen, and EU (excluding UK and Ireland). The cost of carrying a pet in the cabin ranges between $56 - $75 when booked online, and $69 - $93 when booked at the airport. The pet + its kennel must not weigh more than 8 kg.

Children between 5 – 11 years traveling alone need to avail the unaccompanied minor service. The service is optional for kids between 12 – 15 years whereas those over 15 years will have to travel as an adult. The unaccompanied minor will be taken care of right from the time of departure to the time they are safely received at the destination.

In-flight Amenities

Free Wi-Fi is available on most flights within Europe. The airline’s video-on-demand service offers a wide range of movies and TV series that passengers can watch on their own device. For those traveling via one of the long-haul flights, Norwegian offers a state-of-the-art entertainment system on which passengers can watch movies, TV shows, play games, and get to know their destination better via an Interactive 3D map. Passengers can purchase a wide range of meals and drinks simply by using their touchscreens. For passengers interested in some good old-fashioned reading, the airline has its award-winning magazine ‘N by Norwegian’.
