      Cheap Flights to Lagos

Extreme and chaotic, but with a mesmerising music scene

      Introductory Text
Africa’s second largest city is extreme in many respects: it’s over-populated, over-polluted and utterly chaotic. But, its music scene sets it apart from many other cities and redeems it. Nigerian music is famous throughout Africa and the city is at the core of many styles that have evolved from its over-populated hub, such as juju, Nigerian hip-hop, highlife and Afrobeat. This music has achieved international acclaim and is a significant part of Lagos’ culture and entertainment scene. Along with this, Lagos has a number of sandy beaches, including the popular Bar Beach and Lekki Beach, and the area around the ocean-front is a good spot to soak up the Lagos atmosphere.

      Why Go?
Lagos music scene, colourful markets and locally brewed Guinness are great reasons to visit this vibrant city. Immerse yourself in the café culture with live performances, the best seafood and strong liquor.

      When to Go?

Lagos has a tropical climate with hot, humid weather all year round. But, there are two rainy seasons: April to July when the heaviest rains fall, and October- November. August to September is fairly dry and the main dry season is from December to March, which is the best time to visit.

      How to get there

Direct flights are available to Lagos from London Heathrow. Indirect flights are also available with one stopover, but there tends to be little price difference between them. Arrange collection from the airport, but note that they won’t be allowed inside the terminal building. Don't get a taxi unless it’s pre-booked through a reliable source.

      Must see
Visit Broad Street market on Lagos Island. You’ll need to haggle for everything (except bread) and generally you should try to get half the price first quoted. Visit Chocolat Royale for some delicious cakes and travel to Victoria Island for some fresh lobster and a glass of Guinness. Take in the Lagos music scene in one of the outdoor live venues on Bishop Aboyade Cole Street or at one of the clubs on Awolowo Road.

Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the current security situation before travelling to Nigeria.
