The absolute must-see attraction of Cork is the world famous Blarney Stone, perhaps Ireland's most well-known attraction. The block of bluestone is part of the battlements of Blarney Castle, about 5 miles northwest of Cork, along the N20. Kissing the stone is said to bring the gift of the gab, although it has also been described as ‘The world’s most unhygienic attraction’! The city of Cork has several places of interest such as St Patrick Street, renowned for its beautiful architecture and also boasting a good selection of boutique shops.
