      Cheap Flights to Cork

A stunning Irish city in one of Ireland’s most beautiful counties

Cork is both a county and a city in the south of the Republic of Ireland. The city is a major seaport built on the River Lee. There is a traditional rivalry between Cork and Ireland's capital Dublin, the two vying for the honour of being true cultural capital of Ireland. Cork is an attractive, vibrant city with plenty of things to see and do, from high culture to traditional pubs. Visitors can enjoy world-class restaurants, theatre, music and some superb annual festivals. Within the city of Cork there are some outstanding architectural attractions, while in the wider County of Cork some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery is right on the doorstep.

      Why Go?

Experience a true taste of Ireland in the lively city of Cork. Sup a few pints of Guinness in the pubs, take a walk among the attractive Georgian architecture and shop for souvenirs. Sample some of the modern culture of the city in the Cork Jazz Festival or the Cork Film Festival or enjoy coastal walks along the beautiful coastline of County Cork.

      When to Go?

The best time to visit Cork is during the summer months between May and September when it is warm enough to enjoy spending time outside in the city sightseeing or walking in the countryside. Although winter temperatures are not excessively cold it can often be rainy and foggy, which may detract from the enjoyment of the experience. Flights to Cork are available throughout the year.

      How to get there?

Flights to Cork are offered by a number of Irish airlines including Ryanair, Aer Lingus and Aer Arann, as well as Bmibaby flights from Nottingham and Manchester. Aer Arann operates services from Cardiff, Edinburgh, Bristol, Belfast and Jersey, while Aer Lingus offers Cork flights from Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow, Glasgow and Manchester. With Ryanair you can get a flight to Cork from Liverpool John Lennon,  Stansted and London Gatwick. Jet2 flies to Cork from Newcastle. Cork Airport is only ten minutes from the city centre.

      Must see

The absolute must-see attraction of Cork is the world famous Blarney Stone, perhaps Ireland's most well-known attraction. The block of bluestone is part of the battlements of Blarney Castle, about 5 miles northwest of Cork, along the N20. Kissing the stone is said to bring the gift of the gab, although it has also been described as ‘The world’s most unhygienic attraction’! The city of Cork has several places of interest such as St Patrick Street, renowned for its beautiful architecture and also boasting a good selection of boutique shops. Take a trip down to the coast to see some of the outstanding natural beauty of Ireland’s southern shores.
