      Ireland’s Cultural Heart

Situated on the west coast of Ireland, Galway is a vibrant city of cultural events and historical attractions. Lynch's Castle, a medieval townhouse and the Church of Ireland St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church (the largest medieval church in Ireland) are two examples of Galway’s grand architecture. Visit the statue of Pádraic Ó Conaire, Galway’s famous poet and learn more about the city and its people from the interactive exhibits at the Galway City Museum. Stroll around the city and stop off at the Eyre Square and Spanish Parade; nearby cafes make these areas an ideal spot to watch the world go by. Galway has a rich heritage in performance so be sure to book tickets to see a show at the Nun's Island Theatre, The Bank of Ireland Theatre, The Druid Lane Theatre or The Town Hall Theatre. For an authentic evening take in a performance at the Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe, Galway’s Irish language theatre.
