      Cheap Flights to Liverpool

Yellow submarines on the River Mersey

The fourth largest city in the United Kingdom, Liverpool is renowned for its musical heritage. From the sea shanties of sailors and bands of the 60s to modern day chart topping acts, Liverpool’s music scene has travelled well. Head to the Cavern Club to see where it all began for The Beatles, take in a performance at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and book your seats at the Everyman & Playhouse Theatres. Art has also played a significant role in shaping the city of today; visit the Tate and Walker Galleries for contemporary and inspiring artwork. Shop in over 160 stores at Liverpool ONE and make time for lunch in one of the stylish bars and restaurants. Liverpool’s status as a major port secured a UNESCO-listed place for the waterfront area. Sail the River Mersey to see the Albert Dock, Pier Head and the historic architecture of The Three Graces.

      Why Go?
As well as world-class attractions, shopping and nightlife, Liverpool is a city rich in cultural gems. Cathedrals, museums, galleries and theatres have much to tell about the city’s vibrant past. Liverpool’s seafaring legacy lives on down at the docks - get there for sunrise to watch vessels arrive at the port.

      When To Go?
Liverpool, like the rest of the United Kingdom, is prone to unpredictable weather. Rain, sun and high winds can appear over the course of a day so be sure to pack a warm jacket. The winter is the wettest season and temperatures can drop to below freezing. August is usually the warmest summer month with highs of 20°C making strolling by the docks a pleasant experience.

      How to Get There?
Liverpool is served by Liverpool John Lennon Airport located 12km (approximately 8 miles) from the city centre. Direct flights are available to other UK cities and to international destinations. Alternatively you can reach Liverpool by ferry from Belfast and Dublin. A taxi rank is situated outside the airport but the local bus service is a cheaper alternative. Buses are available from the terminal building, taking passengers directly into the city centre.

      Must See
A city famous for the Beatles, no trip to Liverpool would be complete without paying homage to their achievements. All aboard for the Yellow Duckmarine tours which leave Albert Dock daily; the amphibious bus tours the land and water to show tourists the sights of Liverpool. Follow the National Trust trail to Mendips & 20 Forthlin Road, homes of John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney. Both houses are open to the public and exhibit personal items from their childhood.
