      Why Go?
Take a trip to Marseille for a beach holiday with a difference. As France’s oldest city, it’s a good idea to explore the museums and ancient buildings to learn more about Marseille’s heritage. Unwind on the beach set within an idyllic cove or stroll through the thriving market area to browse the stalls.

      When To Go?
Marseille boasts a Mediterranean climate and as a result is a popular holiday destination for tourists and locals. Avoid the cold months of January and February with daytime temperatures dropping to 8°C and a strong cold wind known as the Mistral. July and August are the hottest months of the year with highs of 30°C. The best time to visit is during May when the weather is bright and warm with less crowds than in the peak summer months.

      How To Get There?
Marseille is served by Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) located 27km (approximately 16 miles) from the centre of town. Direct flights from the UK fly from Dublin, London Gatwick and London Stansted. Scheduled flights from Edinburgh and Bristol to Marseille are available seasonally. Marseille Provence Airport serves other European destinations including Brussels, Prague and Barcelona. Passengers can book a taxi or take the shuttle bus service directly into the centre of Marseille.
