Drench yourself in the excitement of beginning your journey with an edgy amusement park.

      Belmont Park

This amusement park has great vistas all around as it is adjacent to the ocean on Mission Bay Drive. All visitors must try the Giant Dipper roller coaster. It is a 2600-feet-long contraption with a top speed of 48 mph that soars high above the park offering stunning views of the ocean. Also, go on other classics like Tilt-a-Whirl ride, Zipline or something as playful as the bumper cars. Families traveling with kids can pay a visit to the spectacular carousel or the arcade. The park is open between 11 am and 6 pm from Tuesday to Thursday, 11 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 11 am to 8 pm on Sunday and Monday.

      Balboa Park

Your visit to San Diego is incomplete if you skip this stunning 1200-acre public park. Balboa Park is home to at least 15 major museums as well as the Old Globe Theater. Stroll across the lush gardens and marvel at the historical architecture. If you want to cover more ground in less time, book a Segway tour to see it all. This public park is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

      San Diego Zoo

Considered one of the best zoos in the world, the San Diego Zoo is tucked away within the boundless and verdant Balboa Park. Take a family trip to this zoo to see the variety of animals such as huggable giant pandas to Komodo Dragons. This zoo is considered one of the best in the world because it pioneered cage less and open-air exhibits for animals. Additionally, you can also visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to check out the Asian as well as African animals. The zoo stays open seven days a week between 9 am and 5 pm.

      Coronado Beach

At Coronado Beach, witness fewer sunbathers and calmer waves as compared to the more popular Mission Beach. This beach is popular with families and couples alike due to its 1.5-mile-long shoreline accommodating plenty of room for privacy lovers. Coronado Beach is open 24 x 7 but venture here at sunset for dramatic views. Swimming in the sea on Coronado beach is not allowed from 11 pm to 6 am.

Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá

The Basilica is a sight to behold with gorgeous Spanish roof tiles, white stucco walls, and grand archways.
