      No trip to Verona would be complete without paying homage to Shakespeare’s famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet. An iconic balcony with a bronze statue of Juliet standing underneath is located in the city centre; her bosom is polished as tourists over the ages have kissed it for prosperity. Notes, names and pictures line the walls of this decorated area. Head to the Basilica di San Zeno to tour the crypt known to be the place of Romeo and Juliet’s secret marriage.
