Interjet is headquartered in the city of Mexico. Interjet’s logo is a blue octagonal star sign, tracing the symbol of an airplane through it. Currently, the airline’s fleet consists of Superjet 100, 48 Airbus A320, A321, A320neo, A321neo aircrafts.
Interjet flights travel to around 55 destinations in Mexico and abroad. They cover 30 destinations within Mexico; with Cancun, Guadalajara and Monterrey being the focus cities. The Mexico City International Airport is the main hub of the airlines.
Passengers can take carry-on luggage up to 10 kg, divided into one or two pieces. One of the luggage pieces can be a standard roll-on suitcase while the other can be a handbag or laptop bag. The maximum dimensions of the main carry-on are 55 x 40 x 25 cm.
Children between the ages of 5 and 18 years minus one day, traveling without an accompanying adult, need to book their Interjet flight tickets under special needs for unaccompanied minors. Minors have to show their birth certificate and passport to obtain a boarding pass. Minors above the age of 12 can travel alone, provided a written consent from the child’s parent or guardian has been provided. A fee of $50 has to be paid for such services (payment for which needs to be made while purchasing the ticket).
Interjet can transport pets, with owners being solely responsible for them. Documents are required to prove that the animal is healthy. Only one pet per passenger is allowed in the passenger cabin or baggage compartment.
There are several facilities to make the passengers’ journey special. Interjet’s monthly magazine makes for an interesting read with a variety of articles on fashion, travel, latest news etc. on offer. Passengers can also watch movies and TV series on the screen or listen to music with their headphones. Women-only restrooms are available in every Interjet aircraft.
But regardless of what class passengers travel in, everyone gets to enjoy perks like free snacks and beverages along with adequate leg room to ensure a comfortable travel experience.
The Interjet flight check-in facility is available for every device (on Interjet app or their website). If you don’t have to check-in your baggage, show your boarding pass in the printed or digital form to board. Web check-in can be done from 48 hours to 1 hour before the scheduled departure time of domestic flights and from 24 hours to 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of international flights.
Interjet Airlines maintains a balance between high efficiency and low cost. With Interjet, all senior citizens can avail a permanent 15% off every time they fly using Optima or Priority. The aircraft seats offer up to 20% extra leg space (seat pitch of 34 inches) to ensure a cozy and pleasant journey. Free snacks and beverages are also provided.
Some of the accolades that define Interjet’s success are the title of ‘Best National Airline’ chosen by the readers of Food and Travel magazine, and the ‘BCW Award (Best Customer Experience)’, granted by IZO. TripAdvisor awarded Interjet with the ‘Best Mexican Airline’ in 2017, based on user votes from around the world.
Interjet’s baggage policy for Light, Optima, and Priority, in-flight amenities, and provisions for traveling with kids and pets are subject to change. To avoid any kind of confusion, passengers are requested to go through the policies on the airlines website for any changes while carrying out an Interjet flight search.
