      Cheap Flights to Fuerte ventura

A sun-drenched island with beautiful sandy beaches

Fuerteventura is a place to relax, unwind and re-charge. Located just 100km from Morocco and boasting some of the best beaches in Europe, the island is a paradise for sunbathing and water sports. Many of the 150 beaches hold Blue Flag status and with constant winds blowing in from the coast, windsurfing is a popular pursuit: so good, in fact, that the Windsurf World Cup is held at the island’s Sotovento Beach each year. There are some interesting places to visit as well, such as the wreck of the SS American Star and the House of the Colonels at La Oliva. But, in truth, if you’re in Fuerteventura, you’ll probably want to spend your time on the glorious beaches.

      Why Go?
Visit Fuerteventura for the beaches, turquoise waters, wonderful climate, excellent water-sports and a chance to spend time doing very little. A holiday in Fuerteventura is the perfect antidote to the stresses and strains of daily life.

      When to Go?

Fuerteventura is a sunny year-round destination. Winters are pleasantly warm and summers are hot with average monthly temperatures of 27°C. The best time to go surfing is from autumn to spring although it is possible to surf all year. Rain showers are frequent between October and April; in the winter months you’ll need to wrap up to keep warm.

      How to get there?
Direct flights to Fuerteventura operate from many UK airports; the journey can take 4-5 hours. Taxis and a shuttle bus are available from the terminal building on arrival. Flights tend to be more expensive in July and August and around seasonal holidays. Cheap flights are available throughout the remainder of the year.

      Must see
Explore various beaches around the island including Corralejo, El Cotillo and Sotovento. Visit the sand dunes at Corralejo which stretch for an impressive 10km along the coast and 2km inland. The Oasis Park Zoo at Lajita offers a fun day out, and the wreck of the SS American Star, which ran aground at Playa de Garcy is also worth a visit.
