      Cheap Flights to Perth

Perth, WA – the world’s most remote capital city

As Western Australia’s capital city, you’d expect Perth to be all big-city bustle. It’s not. It has all the accoutrements – the glittering skyscrapers, modern architecture, cosmopolitan restaurants, sophisticated bars and cultural activities - but none of the hassle. Perhaps it’s something to do with the pristine Indian Ocean beaches and yachting harbours that surround west-coast Perth. Maybe it’s the reliable sunshine or the large tree-shaded parks. Or could it simply be the laid-back, friendly attitude of the locals, who know a good standard of living when they see it? See wild dolphins or settle in and enjoy the beach culture as you watch the sun set over the ocean. If you’re craving culture, you can view some of the country’s best Aboriginal art at the Art Gallery of Western Australia or visit the Western Australian Museum. Alternatively, go wine tasting in Swan Valley or take the kids to Perth Zoo.

      Why Go?
Perth is a growing city with a youthful energy. Go for the clean white sand beaches, the laid-back lifestyle and the food. Taste the wine, soak up the sun, swim with dolphins, take to the water or get into the indie music scene… whatever floats your boat.

      When to Go?
Perth enjoys a temperate Mediterranean type climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Summer temperatures can reach 40°C between November and April, though the ‘Fremantle Doctor’ blows in from the ocean each afternoon to keep it bearable. Spring (Sep-Nov) and autumn (Mar-May) are ideal times to visit Perth and airfares are likely to be lower.

      How to get there?
Perth is served internationally by Perth Airport, which is 7 miles from the city centre. Although it shares the same name as the domestic terminal building, they are 10km apart. Taxis and shuttle buses are on hand for airport transfers. Perth has a very sophisticated transport network so getting around is easy.

      Must see
Get a great view of the city from the top of the DNA Tower in Kings Park or gaze at the stars from the Perth Observatory. Take an hour-long ferry ride to Rottnest Island for some of the best snorkelling and scuba diving in the region. Pack a picnic and go wine tasting in Swan Valley - combine a river cruise and organised bike tour for a pleasant journey or nominate a designated driver. Watch gold bars being made at the Perth Mint or visit Fremantle, a neighbouring port town famed for its markets and maritime history.
